Mix and Match
Mix & match designs are a great way for you to build your own unique stationery design, without the custom price tag! You select the design elements and Belletristics puts it all together to build the design that fits your style. With a variety of different motifs to choose from, a multitude of font options, colors, layouts, and styles, the possibilities are nearly endless when you create a mix & match suite!
All designs are sent in ready to print PDF format that you can print at home or take to a professional printer. Final files will be sent via email in PDF format, set up to print multiple designs per 8-1/2" x 11" page, with crop marks included. Address labels and escort cards will also include editable text boxes so that you can type in your guest's information. Belletristics offers sample design downloads so you can order with confidence. Each sample design is formatted the same way your final file will be, so feel free to download a copy and see for yourself how easy it will be!
How it works
1. Choose your design elements
Browse the selection of motifs, fonts, patterns, and borders available for use in mix & match design orders. Need a little inspiration? Check out the suggested font combinations and example mix and match designs for sample design options.
Once you've found the elements you love, make sure to note the style number or name, since you'll need it when placing your order. For motifs, patterns, and borders, the style number will be found directly below each design element; it looks like "fl-003" . For fonts, the style name will be found above the font sample; it looks like "Serif Font Option 2.
Your mix & match design order includes your desired fonts (choosing 2 fonts is recommended), your choice of 1 motif, 1 pattern, and 1 border. You may select additional motifs, patterns, or borders for $5 each.
You may also substitute any monogram from the traditional category in place of a motif.
2. Fill out the mix & match order form
Once you've chosen your design elements, fill out Belletristics' mix & match order form.
Along with your desired design elements, you'll also need to have the following information ready when filling out your order worksheet:
• Type of designs to order
e.g. save the date, invitation, monogram, program
• Colors to use
To choose your colors, print out Belletristics' color chart. Or, you can provide the RGB, HEX, or PMS number for the colors you'd like to use.
The following information will not be required when submitting your order, but it would be a good idea to start putting it together as it will be required before work begins.
• Printing Method
For information on different printing methods, you can visit Belletristics' DIY resources. If you will be using a professional printer, you'll need to check with them for their print ready file requirements.
• Exact wording for each design
For wording suggestions, check out Belletristics' stationery wording guides.
• Dimensions for each design
3. Read through Belletristics' Policies
This step is very important to insure a quick, easy, and stress-free transaction. If anything is unclear or you have questions about the policies, please feel free to contact Belletristics.
4. Receive your PayPal invoice
Within 2 business days of submitting your mix & match order form, Belletristics will send you a PayPal invoice for the design fee. By completing your payment through PayPal, you are agreeing to Belletristics' policies and terms of service.
If additional information is needed to create your designs, you will be asked to submit it at this time.
Work on a project will not begin until payment is made in full and all information is returned. If an invoice remains unpaid for more than 10 business days, the invoice may be cancelled at Belletristics' discretion.
5. Belletristics creates your designs!
Now that all the details are taken care of, the fun begins—Belletristics begins creating your designs.
6. Review your proofs
Within 3-5 business days you'll receive your first set of proofs.
Your first proof for a mix & match design will consist of 2-3 layout options for the designs ordered, using your chosen motifs, fonts, colors, patterns, and borders. When placing a large order with multiple items, your first proof will include options for a few key items only. When a layout has been approved, the rest of the accessories will be created to match.
The proofing process is your opportunity to preview your design and confirm the colors, spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and sizes of each item. Two free revisions are included in your mix & match design order; additional revisions are available at $10 each.
7. Approve your designs and receive your final files.
Once your design is exactly the way you want it, just confirm that you're ready to receive your final files.
By requesting your final files, you're approving all elements of the design as is, so make sure everything is perfect! Double check spelling, colors, sizing—it's always a great idea to have a second person look the designs over as well, since they may catch something we've all missed.
When you approve your final designs, Belletristics will prepare the final print ready files for you. Unless you or your printer has requested a different set up, final files will be in PDF format, set to print multiple designs per 8-1/2"x11" page, with crop marks included. Monograms are sent in your choice of JPEG, PNG, or PDF format, at your desired size.
8. Print your designs and enjoy!
Your final files will be print ready, so when you receive them you're all set to start printing!
